Fibre optic technology revolutionised the telecommunications industry in the 1970s and has played an important role in the rapid development of the IT and related industries. Compared to standard electrical data transmission over copper wires, fibre optics has a significant advantage, especially in terms of its resistance to electromagnetic interference and the high bandwidth it transmits.

Our METEL company focused on the use of fibre optics in its applications soon after its founding in 1996. Gradually, we developed and started to manufacture a range of analogue and then digital optical converters, up to the most advanced industrial 10G Ethernet switches.
