In most cases, connecting SM and MM fibers requires the use of active converters. Such a solution entails higher implementation costs, and its deployment is limited to locations where power is available. A technology developed by the Polish company Fibrain offers a solution to these challenges.

Passive MPC converters ensure stable signal conversion from MM to SM fibers. The use of unique photonic optical technology enables the interconnection of MM and SM fibers with low insertion loss. They are available as optical adapters with SC-PC connectors.
