Pelco VideoXpert

The security level of systems depends, amongst other things, on knowledge of their actual – rather than merely presumed – state. There are many ways to ensure this. The IPLOG PLC, as a monitoring unit, is one of them. PLCs support a wide range of communication protocols, which facilitates integration with VMS (Video Management Software) from various manufacturers. What are the main advantages of our solution?

A high level of security – we monitor network devices using the standardised SNMPv3 protocol. The AES algorithm protects data from eavesdropping, whilst SHA-1 protects against unauthorised alterations during transmission.

We do not require any additional licences for the VMS – we use a standard ASCII plug-in to transmit status information, which is supplied free of charge by the VMS manufacturer, Pelco. The plug-in’s configuration is well documented and requires no special skills.

Technical support – the entire system is available at our head office for teaching and training purposes. Our technical support team can therefore advise you on commissioning the system to a high professional standard.

IPLOG processes information received via the SNMP protocol in accordance with the configured programme. If it assesses any information as critical or important, it forwards it to the VMS system. The operator thus receives only information that requires a specific response and is not distracted by a large amount of irrelevant information.

  • Failed IEEE802.1X user authentication
  • Supply voltage is outside the permitted range
  • Backup battery voltage is low
  • Operating temperature is outside the permissible range
  • Unauthorised tampering has occurred
  • Network connection has been interrupted

The solution described has been implemented in dozens of high- and extra-high-voltage substations.
