The context of the solution

The aim of the project was to modernise the security of more than 200 HV substations. The main challenge was to combine the highest standards of cyber security with the requirement for a high level of automation, which significantly reduces the requirements for operation and supervision.

Solution description

IPLOG PLCs use the flexibility of IEC 61131-3 languages to integrate camera system conditions (camera disconnection, loss of stream, blanking, etc.) directly into the alarm systems of HV substations.

Solution advantages

  • High investment protection - The PLC-based IPLOG architecture enabled a smooth transition between technologies from different manufacturers.
  • Product independence - Successful migration from legacy Pelco and Bosch systems to Avigilon technology.
  • Flexible development - Thanks to the in-house development of new function blocks for Avigilon, the original concept was maintained.
  • Scalability - The system is ready for further expansion without the need for costly infrastructure changes.
