RS485 serial lines

The F and G series LAN-RING industrial switches are equipped with two RS-485 buses, for which various operating modes can be configured.

The following rules apply to the transmission of data from security systems designed in accordance with EN 50131-1:

  • All frames are tagged with VLAN headers in accordance with IEEE 802.1Q.
  • All connected systems have a defined bandwidth (protection against DDoS attacks).
  • Alarm system data has QoS bits set to the highest priority.
  • It is recommended to monitor the activity of all ports on the transmission system using the SNMP protocol.
