RS485 serial lines

LAN-RING industrial switches and IPLOG PLCs are equipped with a wide range of serial interfaces. In the case of switches, these are mainly RS485 buses, which can be configured in a wide range of operating modes.
The following rules apply to data transmission of alarm systems designed according to EN 50131-1:
- all frames are marked with VLAN headers according to IEEE 802.1Q
- all connected systems have a defined bandwidth (protection against DDoS attacks)
- Alarm system data has its QoS bits set to the highest priority
- it is recommended to monitor the activity of all ports of the transmission system using the SNMP protocol
