Note: METEL devices = all 2nd and 3rd generation LAN-RING switches with fw. 45 and higher, IPLOG units and VoIP modules supporting event management.
Typical applications
METEL devices are connected via digital inputs to:
If the PIR sensor detects an Alarm, Tamper, Antimasking or any other condition we want to respond to, the event management sends command(s) to the camera(s): set preset, display text, run Pattern.
In the event of an IP camera theft, Event Management can automatically film other cameras on the attacker's intended escape route, turn on lights, control power, control power, and control the attacker's escape route. The alarm system can control the alarm, operate the locks, etc.
If the camera housing is opened, the camera will automatically rotate into the housing.
Event management can switch the day/night mode of camera capture according to the status of the twilight switch output.
Note: Support for HTTP commands varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. Therefore, when designing a system using HTTP commands, we recommend consulting with our technical support.
Setup - Step 1
Set the IP address and login credentials of the cameras. The camera to be controlled does not need to be connected directly to the METEL device where the HTTP commands are stored, but can be controlled remotely via LAN. Remote inputs can thus be connected to the cameras easily and, more importantly, without additional cabling.

Settings - Step 2
In the second step we set the automatic actions themselves. The first example shows the settings for natively supported AXIS cameras:
"If IN2 (ALARM=alarm loop) is in the ALARM state, turn camera 6 to preset 3"
Note: HTTP commands for setting presets and displaying on-screen texts of AXIS cameras are stored directly in the METEL memory of the device.

If you want to control non-AXIS cameras, copy the commands to the Extension / CAMERA / User commands menu and
to execute them, just select the URL mode and command number from the Extension/CAMERA/User commands menu.
