Advanced IP Watchdogs

LAN-RING switches and IPLOG PLCs support Advanced IP Watchdogs, which not only monitor the availability of IP devices, but are also capable of performing a range of automatic actions if a problem is detected.

They use the ARP protocol to monitor the availability of IP devices, which allows them to be used even for IP devices with disabled ICMP protocol (pings). The capabilities of the IPLOG-GAMA switches and PLCs are:

  • 8 IP Watchdogs in small switches
  • 16 IP Watchdogs in 19" switches
  • 32 IP Watchdogs in IPLOG units

IP Watchdog can:

  • send e-mail / SNMP trap
  • control local / remote relays
  • send HTTP / ONVIF command
  • enable / disable ethernet port

Event example: in case of detection of disconnection of device No.3, relay output No.1 is switched on
