Tests of integrated surge protectors

After more than 20 years of development and manufacturing experience, we can say with full responsibility that we have achieved the goal we set out to achieve at the beginning, to produce equipment with a lifetime of 10 years or more. The proof of this is the five-year warranty provided on all IP devices. A large part of this success is due to the surge protectors that have become part of all the metal interfaces of our equipment. Their lifetime therefore does not end with the first storm. Depending on the type of equipment and its intended use, its interfaces are equipped with fine protection (transils) or a combination of coarse and fine protection (lightning arresters + transils). A good example is industrial switches where fast Ethernet ports are tested with a 1000 A pulse in an 8/20 µs waveform.
