Difference between LAN-RING v1 / v2

All current switches support the LAN-RING v1 and v2 circular topology. This ensures backward compatibility with legacy systems and allows new models to be easily integrated into existing infrastructure.

The main difference between the LAN-RING v1 and v2 versions is the introduction of the Dynamic Master. Unlike the first version, in v2 this switch feature is set automatically, completely eliminating the need for manual configuration. In addition, the Dynamic Master eliminates the need for a second communication interruption when restoring a previously interrupted link.
